So, you want to become a reviewer, do you? Then congratulations, you're on the road to greatness! That is, if you follow these general rules and tips:
Grammar and Spelling
Obviously this is a pretty big requirement. Reviews must be free of any spelling or grammar errors at all times. Well... not really at all times, but you won't look professional if it's full of errors! And looking professional is very important!
Copying/Stealing
Whatever you do, you're not allowed to copy other reviews from other sites, unless you're a reviewer on another forum, and you're just posting your own review on to here, and vice versa. Those who steal other peoples reviews, however, are punished bydeath your thread being locked.
Pictures/Videos
Reviews must have pictures (Or videos, whatever floats your boat) in them. It'll make you look more professional (I simply can't stress professionalism enough!), make it prettier, and above all, it'll help to get your point across. e.g. talking about the manimals in Red Dead Redemption.
Don't post spoilers!
One of the biggest reasons people play a game is to watch the story unfold around them. Therefore, it's important you don't reveal the entire storyline in a game for your review, otherwise your readers will be quite pissed. So, when you're talking about the story, just post the basic stuff of the story. e.g. "Zelda's been kidnapped... again! Link must save her!" rather then "Zelda's been kidnapped by Ghirahim in order to revive his master! Link must kill Ghirahim and kill his master!"
Length
Obviously a longer review is a better review, and writing one paragraph simply just won't cut it. Still, you may use whatever length you feel is comfortable for you, but just make sure you at least talk about the games' graphical, sound, and gameplay aspects.
Well, that's all for now. Happy reviewing! And if it's your birthday, then happy birthday, too! ;D
